An alleged match-fixing in a match of the second division of Colombian soccer that was evidenced on television produced a scandal in the country, where the government calls for in-depth investigations into the case.
"The sports world and Colombian soccer cannot forget that in the 1990s the lives of important Colombian players with similar situations were overshadowed, so we call for prudence, so that the competent authorities resolve this situation. No football game costs more than a life," the team said after threats against several of its players.
Despite what happened at the end of 2021, we have just started 2022 when this team is once again in the eye of the Colombian media for alleged match fixing, now the complainant is the former player of the Colombian national team and now coach of Atletico Cali Giovanni Hernandez.
Hernandez indicates after the game that his team lost 3-1 against Llaneros, that some of his players just didn't move, they didn't fight, it was as if they wanted to let themselves win.
"This is something external, it's something that hurts soccer and you know what I'm talking about," Hernandez.
